PhD Statistics

Professional

I am a second year graduate student pursuing a Ph.D. in Statistics. My biggest interests are in statistical methodology and computation, and I am excited to learn about these in the context of multi-messenger astronomy. I studied math and physics during undergrad and am looking forward to revisiting topics from physics.

Personal

I am a second year graduate student pursuing a Ph.D. in Statistics. I grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and attended Kenyon College in Ohio for undergrad. Michigan and Ohio weren't quite cold enough so I'm happy to have spent the last year in the Twin Cities. In addition to getting excited about statistics, I play brass and keyboard instruments and love to play in ensembles when I have time. My other biggest hobbies are playing/studying shogi and chess, cooking, reading Wikipedia, and walking across the Franklin Avenue Bridge.
