Authentic Greek Gyros


Introduction

The food is a gyro it is a greek wrap and it is amazing it reminds me of lunch in crete . Everyone needsto try this recipe in their lifetime.

Ingredients

  • Hot Chips

  • Chicken or Lamb souvlaki (not both)

  • Pita bread

  • Tzatziki (or other sauce options garlic, bbq, tomato)

  • Lemon

  • Red Onion (Optional)

  • Salt & Pepper

  • Salad (Optional)


Equipment

  • Hands

  • BBQ or Grill

  • Tongs

  • Gloves

  • Paper to wrap

  • Deep Fryer


Method

  1. Heat up the pita bread on the grill

  2. Cook the hot chips in the deep fryer

  3. Grill the chicken or lamb on the bbq

  4. Put chips and the souvlaki in the pita bread (take the meat off the stick)

  5. Add sauce and salad if you like (optional)

  6. Roll it up from the sides (not from the top or the bottom)

  7. Wrap in paper

  8. Eat it with your hands

  9. At the end eat whatever has fallen out

  10. Then you may go and make another one. 1 is never enough!


Preparation time 15 minutes. Cooking time 15 minutes
