COVID-19 has been hard on all of us, and getting used to a new way of living and learning does come with its challenges. One of the important things for us in G11, was to keep the momentum going keeping the spirits high. Grade 11 is the year when IBDP students begin to get an idea of what the course expects of them. While it is quite natural to already know it in theory, the true meaning of it becomes evident only when they begin to manage the tasks and timelines. It isn't easy, which is why it gives me special pride to say that this Grade 11 has done good job in being a mindful batch despite Covid’19 constraints. There’s so much that the students are balancing, and through all this, they are laughing and smiling and keeping their spirits up. They have been committed towards realising their dreams and potential - making their academic performance an exemplary one with dreams, potential and commitment leading the fore.
It is only natural for students entering the rigorous DP to feel completely overwhelmed. Extended Essays! TOK Presentations! Written Tasks! Do I get CAS hours for this? Group 4 project! Individual Oral What? How on Earth do I manage all of this? I’ve watched a few cohorts enter the DP in my career, and I can honestly say that this group has exhibited the most grace and courage in tackling these tasks quite efficiently. Grade 11 has been a year where students learnt a lot about themselves and the true value of hard work and perseverance, yet this would not have been possible without the refreshing personalities of teachers and students that surround them.
