Timbre
Timbre is a student-led music group where passionate members of the school community gather to build their collaborative skills, confidence and creativity through engagement in music. Throughout the year, we have done multiple projects and performances where each member showcases their musical talents. Due to the pandemic, everything has been focused more on the digital performances side - recording ourselves performing and combining the audio and video with an external software. Some notable projects include a Christmas themed drama in which members performed for the annual Holiday Concert and did a cover of “Lovely” by Khalid and Billie Eilish for our annual halloween celebration. Through these projects we were encouraged to adapt and conquer any challenges we’ve faced, which eventually helped us all grow into talented musicians and performers. Furthermore, our other activities include posting covers, song of the day, music facts and more on our instagram @swatimbreproject and even participating in the student council collaboration with SDN Dompu. We are happy to be able to share our passion for music and are excited to create more exciting projects for you all to enjoy.
Riviera English
We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn and express themselves through language. Riviera English, a team consisting of 5 executive members, provides this opportunity for an elementary school in Indonesia SDN Dompu 35. We have continued from the previous executives with their online interactive teaching session. Through techniques of oral, listening and conversational skills we have expanded and developed the students ability to recite and memorize words and now even sentences in english. We have also helped the school outside of the teaching environment, as we have started an online shop to support and raise funds for the students of the school. This includes selling tote bags, lanyards, pop sockets and many more to come. Our biggest activity this academic year has been our own original storybook, which was written and drawn by us. With this book, we hope to teach the kids of SDN Dompu to elevate their english ability. This book will also be sold, with profits funding electronic tablets for the Dompu students.

Student Council
This year, the student council organized a total of 12 events which aimed to unite, and entertain the student body through celebrating and commemorating events and long-term SWA traditions including SWA clash of talent, candy grams and halloween movie night. It has been a rather challenging year switching from online back to offline, but we managed to accomplish a lot for the student body. We hope our contributions this year have made the school year a little bit more enjoyable as we look forward to the next year and the possibility of being fully offline again. On behalf of the 4 student council executives and stuco members, we would like to say thank you for participating in our events and helping us serve the students of SWA.
1take
1TAKE dance group is a CAS project that allows students to develop and extend their body corporation and movement isolation while using their imaginative and logical thinking to come up with choreography to practice and perform. We encourage our members to not only participate in dance performances but also to take the initiative to plan their own performances. During the last year of the G12’s (Vivian & Grace) leadership, we have gained back our rhythm in practicing and performing dances offline in school. As a group consisting of more than 10 dancers, we have managed to perform together on stage one last time during the ‘FLAME arts and music appreciation assembly’. Through these complex and challenging performances, all of the members were forced to help each other in terms of learning the choreography and paying attention to their use of power during the dance routine. We had Sherry (G10) and Yuju (G9) helping Vivian (G12) with teaching the group dance. We hope to see more of our members taking the initiative to teach/choreograph their own dances in the future. We also look forward to performing on stage again with the full team!
High Hoops
High hoops is a student-led CAS that’s main objective is giving kids the ability to have fun, whilst also learning a new sport/hobby. We will provide the opportunity for them to learn it by providing them with sports equipment, shoes, apparel etc to those that are in need of it. In order to obtain the funds, we will be selling basketball related apparel that will be designed uniquely by us. Then the profits that are made, along with any other donations, will be used to buy the equipment for the kids. This CAS project will help us students to enhance and build our design, marketing and business skills as we will all be helping out on advertising and designing the products.
So far, we have donated a set of basketball apparels to the SDN 35 Dompu students. On top of that, we have also made unique t-shirt designs, to be sold, for our upcoming fund raising event. Lastly, we have also raised an awareness on a healthy lifestyle in the middle of the new normal period by providing students and teachers an opportunity to play, learn, and enjoy the game of basketball with their friends. This gives students and teachers a break from their academic responsibilities.
Aksara Siji
Aksara Siji is a student-led CAS project that aims to help preserve the local Indonesian culture, specifically the Javanese culture. Though the Javanese language is commonly spoken, the traditional writing system is almost never used. This is important since their history is written in that script and it contains traditional values, thus forming the foundation of their identity. Not only did we make tutorials on how to write the Javanese script through multiple platforms such as YouTube and Instagram, but also teach about the culture itself and make some Javanese-based modern music. We’ve also had the opportunity to share about the culture to students from Dompu by teaching them a few phrases and a Javanese folk song. Aksara Siji also values education so we donated stationaries to support their learning. We do all this in hopes to create a sense of relevance and a deep appreciation for the local culture by the younger generation.
AMPWR
AMPWR is a CAS project which focuses on the global issues within the fashion and beauty industry as well as attitudes around fashion and beauty by creating a counter-movement where we, as students and creators, produce handmade beauty products and clothing. Thisyear, we focused on continuing what we have already begun in the previous academic year. AMPWR Krewelty focused on creating ethical and handmade cosmetic products, and expanded to sell pre-loved clothing online in order to promote the reuse and upcycling of clothing. AMPWR Chromamania worked to create crochet products such as hats, bags, cardigans and sweaters. More importantly, we expanded to sell our products on Shopee instead of just Instagram. Through AMPWR, we were able to demonstrate our creaativity, planning, organization and communication skills.
CHV Club
Our CAS project is a volunteering community aiming to help out children in hospitals and local orphanages by collecting donations and putting out fundraising activities around South Tangerang and Jakarta. Some of our major activities consist of creating a Christmas raffle to give away a Von Dutch cap (worth 375k) to everyone willing to participate. To be listed in the lottery, participants are required to pay a fee of 25-60k. We also managed to raise funds to purchase stacks of notebooks, textbooks, 3,000 masks and other stationeries which have been given away to orphanages in BSD City and Puri, beginning with Panti Kasih Mulia Sehati. Our Collaboration with @h_h10.1 also succeeded in donating an original vegan recipe booklet, school supplies, milk and oranges to Panti Asuhan Mekar Lestari. We have created and wrapped up more activities for Halloween, Christmas and Easter as well.
Bio2M
Bio2M is a club, led by four executives with a total of 11 members, where middle school and high school students put aside seniority to fuel our passion for biology together. Our deep dives into topics of our own interests are showcased in published journal articles on Biotreks, and informative posts on our Instagram @bio2mswa. Our greatest accomplishment this academic year would have to be publishing an opinion article in the Jakarta Post about lab-grown meat, considering the implications of this innovation on multiple factors, such as ethical, economic, and environmental perspectives. We have also donated fun and informative books to SDN Dompu 35 to further their interests in the sciences, and raised funds to support eco-tourism and biodiversity in Pulau Hatta in a collaboration with another cAS group, Asupan Hati.
HH101
HH101 is a project that focuses on increasing vegetarian awareness and influencing a healthy lifestyle, especially for young adults in Indonesia, by providing education and fundraising sales of notebooks, planners, and recipe books. We raised funds by selling self-designed merchandise through Tokopedia and Shopee and raised more than 1 million to donate to @kitabisa. One main platform was the Youtube channel (HH-101) to provide friendly recipe tutorial videos and language videos. We updated weekly to present diverse recipes with healthy ingredients to offer positive changes to the viewers. We also had online teaching sessions with SDN Dompu students to educate the importance of a healthy diet and the Korean language to allow them to enhance their language skills and some experience in Korean culture. Our last activity was a collaboration with @chv_club. We had donated our first recipe book, stationeries, food, and books to Panti Asuhan Mekar Lestari to have little positive influence on the children to improve their eating habits. Through the HH101 Project, we were able to grow and demonstrate creativity, commitment, organization, and communication skills.
Industrial Safeguard Initiative
Industrial Safeguard Initiative is a student-led project aiming to provide essential and frontline workers with PPEs and therefore promote a safer working environment during the time of the COVID-19 Pandemic. We initially started our project by designing a face shield that can be produced with leftover materials in a clothing factory. This design, with a production proposal, was accepted by a local OEM factory, which allowed us to start the project. Along with over 6000 faceshields, we also donated over 20,000 surgical masks.
Macan Debate Club
Macans Debate Club- Sinarmas World Academy’s one and only debate club which aims to boost the confidence of students and recruit anyone who is interested and willing to try out something new, something fresh. In our club, we highly encourage everyone to give debate a try as debate is not about how well you can speak English or how well your grammar is. It is about learning to feel confident using your own voice. Our members have joined multiple debate competitions such as the World’s Scholars Cup which was an amazing experience for a lot of us. Last month, as we continue to adapt to the “new normal” we held debate sessions in each grade which we were able to see just how talented our students are. We are definitely hopeful to see a huge wave of naturally talented debaters in the future!

Together, they set up food aid kitchens and temporary shelters for victims of Cyclone Seroja and the Semeru Volcano Eruption. Their other activities include launching a food waste campaign and donating hot meals to homeless people.
Canon
CanonSWA is a student initiated strings club that focuses on helping students develop their interests in strings instruments, which may often include piano, violin etc. We have worked on several projects, where we composed our own version of well known musical pieces. Furthermore, we have also performed several times during our school’s assembly. We hope through this CAS club, not only will more students develop an interest in music, but also help those who are already interested build a deeper connection with it.
EnPaSWAnt
Enpaswant is SWA’s first ever chess-club led by a group of grade 11 students. The aim of this project is to teach, learn, and play chess together in a fun and easy-going environment. Every week, we have sessions after school on Thursdays where we play against each other and occasionally learn new chess openings. We have had an internal mini chess tournament and had the finals in the CAS assembly. Besides learning chess in the club, we also collaborated with the SDN Dompu CAS Project to teach the students how to play chess. This project also allows us to have a fun time to relax and destress from the rigors of academic life.
ComiClub
Comiclub is a newly formed CAS where we have the opportunity to express our own creativity through illustrations and storytelling. We usually create short comics where we post on our instagram (@comiclub.21). One of our goals is to use comics to create awareness or send a message (or just for entertainment), another goal is to teach younger students (in and out of school) the basics of comic creation, that way they could also express themselves creatively.
Habitat for Humanity (Keiko, Selma, Hillary, Vacya)
HFH (@hfh22_) is a long-running CAS group that has been carried on in its pursuit to support local communities in need; by spreading awareness and raising funds, reaching up to our goal where we are able to provide shelter and use the money raised to build homes.Through various extracurricular activity, we are hoping to bring light about the true struggles that people face in our local community, and how we are able to help. Our team strives for unity, sending a message of hope that there will always be a habitat for all humanity.

Bulletin Communique is a social media platform (@bulletincomm.swa) led by SWA students . Our goal in this project is to share communities both inside and outside of school of the importance of day to day social and mental health. Our project has a variety of information starting from economical news to the medical world to literature and arts. We also do informative skits to lighten up during hard times. Bulletin communiqué looks forward to working with organizations outside and inside of school.
Team Trees
Team trees is a non-profit organization made by Sinarmas World Academy students in 2022. Our project aims to plant 1000 trees in our local community by the end of 2023. We aim to increase public awareness and care towards the environment we live in through both indirect and direct means of activity. We believe that by starting little, eventually, it would make a huge impact in the future.
Terkasi (Fahrel, Haani, Hayden)
Terkasi is a donating platform organized by Terkasi Execs, with goals to provide those who lost their parents to Covid-19–with essential supplies for both their studies and also for their day to day life. Our donating platform also serves as a medium to not only spread awareness but to also enlighten those in hard times. Terkasi has long term plans in collaborating with other organizations and school .
Badminton Club
The Badminton Club promotes a healthy and balanced lifestyle in the midst of the new normal period. We provide students and teachers an opportunity to play, learn, and enjoy the game of badminton with their friends. This gives students and teachers a break from their academic responsibilities. Our aim is in raising awareness of badminton as a globally growing sport, opposing the existing view of "an Asian dominated" industry. So far, we have conducted weekly sessions, every Fridays, in our Middle and High School gym from 15:00 - 16:30 afterschool.
Tedx
To showcase innovation taking place in student project, competition and EX work at SWA and build an inter-school community focusing on how students can be inspired and empowered in discovering and implementing innovative solutions to real-world problems. Develop student confidence in public speaking, planning presentations and also provide experiences for students to discuss on their college applications and interviews. Students will also be involved in planning and carrying out the event which will develop required skills such as event planning, delegation of tasks and taking on leadership roles. TED talks must be uploaded to the TED Youtube channel and so will be a way to draw attention and publicity to SWA as well.
The theme proposed is "Challenging the Uncertainty: Recognize, Refine, and Reborn". The theme is multidisciplinary and open to a variety of subjects and topics can be further defined by our Selection Committee. Students are presenting on how they have asked new questions, thought about local issues and engaged globally.
MathClub
MathClub mentor students internally and externally for mathematics and also to show the world that mathematics is fun and not a hard subject. We want to change the way of teaching mathematics where many students hate the subject because they can’t seem to find the fun, sparks when learning. Our end goal is to host a mathematics competition open for the public, where the participants could also win some prizes for winning the competition. We strongly believe that such an approach will incentivize a mathematical spirit and interest within them to perform their best. MathClub has plans to bring our school’s olympiad team to win competitions and to be prepared for new international competitions. We want our school to be always in the top in every competition that the school joins.
