As the pandemic rages on, the importance of quality education has only increased. It has been wonderful to witness students keeping active and engaged minds, despite all the challenges. “What was a time when you faced a challenge and how did you overcome it?” That is a common–and often dreaded–interview question and one that English Language Class students have started to tackle through their writing. Along with developing detail in their fiction writing and passion in their poetry, the English Language students have been learning, practicing, and fine-tuning their opinion writing and their personal recount writing skills. Students have been learning and applying their grammar, usage, and punctuation skills as they start to learn the essence of sharing their own story and their opinions to better connect with others and to better prepare themselves for a successful life. “But don’t forget the beginning capital letters and the end punctuation.”
