The final week of Term 2 was made extra special through the online exchange with students of Ritsumeikan Primary School in Kyoto, Japan. The Japanese students in third grade interacted with the third and fourth-grade SWA students.
The activity kicked off with a freeze dance game and everyone was on their feet rocking to the upbeat Christmas songs. They then played pictionary, where the SWA students drew and guessed the answers, and also learned some new Japanese vocabulary. The students were then mixed into different groups to interview and get to know each other. It was a fun way for the Japanese students to practise their listening, speaking, and writing skills in the English language.
Nothing can stop SWA and Ritsumeikan Primary School students from spending time together. It was a great way to end the year 2021!
