Helping each other

I’m calling this project, Helping each other because in this photo my grandmother is chopping a bunch of onions up to put in homemade shepherd's pie and homemade meatballs. We are making shepherd’s pie and the meatballs for an older man who is a vetran and is not doing well. Since he can't go anywhere to get food or even leave his house we bring meals to him every two weeks. The subject is the process of making the food. I chose to create this specific work because there are a lot of people who are doing these kinds of things for people who are at more risk. For materials, I used a knife, cutting board, onions, hands. While creating this work, I paid close attention to angles by taking photos at different angles to see what was best for the photo. To add interest to my composition, I used movement by not having her just sit there posing. I took photos while she was moving. I like the way this photo came out and I am proud of my family for doing this for others who need it. However, I forgot to take photos when everything was done. If I created another work like this I may take photos of the food when it is done. My work shows that I learned how much others are in need of support and food.
