Extreme Perspective

This artist statement is about the image in the first row on the right side.

The subject of my creation is an ants eye view of a pair of dirty converse. The setting is the science wing hallway. For this photo, I used a friend's feet and the lockers to have a consistent background. To create this photo I had Rylee stand in front of the lockers while I laid on the ground to get the right angle. The reason that I chose to create this photo is that I wanted the scene to look organic.

In this photo, the composition rules and techniques that are used are leading lines, repetition, and grouping. Leading lines are shown on the laces of the sneakers. Repetition and grouping is shown by the holes that the laces go through. The way that my photo changed was that the original photo was not as detailed and colorful. I also added more definition.

The meaning behind this photo is an ant about to be stepped on. This photo relates to my life in the way that my sneakers are always dirty. In the future, I think I could make the photo black and white then add selected color to the red lines so it's not only black and white.
