Friendships

"Six Feet Apart"

I’m calling this project, “Six Feet Apart” because due to the covid-19 pandemic it is mandatory that everyone is to stay six feet apart from each other while near people that you are not currently living with. The subject is a tape measure based off the film Five feet apart, though instead of a ruler that is six feet long I used a tape measure. I chose to create this specific work because I wanted to have a prop that was the main subject that connects to covid-19. For materials, I used a tape measure, and my best friend and her boyfriend. I used a variety of techniques and methods including color selection, leading lines of the road. While creating this work, I paid close attention to the position of the two people by not having them look too awkward. I wanted my artwork to look pandemic and I did that by using the mandatory instructions and showing them in this photo. I like the way I choose to use color selection on the tape measure and I am proud of my friends for being in a photo. However, I struggled with getting them to sit still. If I created another work like this I may go at a different angle. My work shows that I learned how to show what friendships/ relationships look like during covid-19.
