Green
I’m calling this project, green because the analogous color theme that I choose is green.
The subject is textured green paint based on abstract paintings. I chose to create this specific work because I knew that I wanted to use paint for this project but I wasn’t sure how to use it, at first I just painted a gradient of greens but then I didn’t like it so I put different greens in my sink and just thought of a textured tree. For materials, I used light green paint, dark green, and organic green paint color, I also used white light, and a fanned paintbrush, my bathroom sink. I used a variety of techniques and methods including painting to add texture to the paint, having different shades of green to show that it is the analogous theme. While creating this work, I paid close attention to showing the different shades of green by trying not to mix the paints. I wanted my artwork to look abstract and I did that by adding texture to the brush strokes. To add interest to my composition, I used the analogous theme by using different greens. I like the way the light green paint looks with the darker green and I am proud of the really clear places in the photo. However, I struggled with finding an idea for this photo. If I created another work like this I may use more different shades of the color I choose. My work shows that I learned how to involve other arts in photography.
