Sustained Investigation 1

The story and point of this particular project is to demonstrate calmness in my artwork. I created this project with a picture I took when I was on a trip in the west. I wanted to use this landscape and just change the colors to show the mood. The project relates to my life again because it was a picture I took, I made it and also because I changed the color to describe my mood at a certain moment in a day.

This work was made with paper, water color, paint brushes, tape, pencils, and one white oil pen to draw the moon. I used all this to come together to create the final project seen above, I used a few different brushes, some small some big to be able to paint in control and for the right size. I used tape to keep the border clean so I could make sure I didn't paint over it.

The process used to create this artwork was first finding a picture then deciding how I wanted to change my artwork from that picture. Next, I used a pencil to create a border and outline my project. Then I used a base color for each section so there was no white shining through the water color. Then I started adding in specific details that created a more realistic feel. My project evolved because at first the purple in the sky was much darker but after I looked at the project again I decided it made my whole project a lot darker and not really describe "calmness" so I made the purple lighter. If I were to go back in and add detail, I would probably add more details of the lower parts of the red and maybe lighten up the green of the trees and bushes so the whole project doesn't look so dark.
