Jumping Fish
9x15in
For this project the story is basically just a fish jumping out of water into the other side and water is splashing everywhere. This project relates to my life because first of all I made it so therefore it relates to my life and it also relates to my life because I like swimming and ocean life and this piece of artwork sort of shows and describes that.
This work was made first with a matrix with all the elements and principles of design and then selected two, then i used a pencil to make a border of two even boxes and tape to make those boxes clean when I painted. I also used some water color and a paint brush, a black sharpie and a salmon colored sharpie, I also used some colored pencil in the fish and another piece of paper that I glued onto the bigger piece of paper.
The processes I used to create this piece of artwork was first deciding which too elements and principles I wanted to choose from the matrix then used a 2B pencil to enlarge those designs. After that I came up with ways to have that section of artwork evolve and become better. After I added in some color so it wasn't so blank and "boring", then i added in the fish to connect both sections of the paper. My project evolved because originally I didn't have the blue background so I added it in so It looked more like the ocean, then I also had a different fish before that was a little less life like that wasn't jumping into the water so I scratched that Idea and decided to make the fish jumping into the water. I also didn't have the fish in the top right corner but I had a little accident so I decided to cover it up with a fish which worked out so the larger fish wasn't the only thing that caught your eye. If I could go back I would probably clean up the lines and have the blending of the water be a little smoother because right now it doesn't look very good.
