Graphite on drawing paper
9"x12"
First, I used one of my drawings of a Birkenstock sandal and zoomed in on the medal straps of the shoe. I used a square template and placed it on the zoomed in drawing. I repeated this process one more time until I got a circle and rectangle. For this project I used a 2H pencil to make sure it was easy to erase if needed. My favorite part about making this was the fact that it was so simple. The most difficult part about this was drawing the straps from the shoe to my paper. Overall, I thought this was a fun project.
Zoomed Shoe
Printing paper, watercolor, graphite
11"x 14"
I used the zoomed shoe drawing with pencil to make this. I used the straps of the Birkenstock and make a city in the middle of the shoe. Next, I made roads with the rim of the medal and created a night and day scene. The best part about this project was being able to create different scenes with different parts of the shoe. I used watercolor to add the final touches and it was complete.
