Object
Cheese grater
Sculpture
Wire
The main idea of this project was to make a sculpture using only wire and pliers using an object that you either brought from home or found in the classroom.
For this project, I was originally going to make a sculpture of my water bottle but quickly realized that many other people were doing the same. I used a cheese grater that I found in the classroom and measured wire around the bottom and top of the object because the cheese grater narrowed as it became taller, and I wanted to make it do the same. I used pliers to make a hook on both ends of the wire and pinched the pliers to connect the wire together. I did this multiple times and shaped the wire differently each time until the sculpture was complete.
if I were to do this project again, I would've chosen a simpler object and made the hooks tighter so they wouldn't move around the sculpture. This was the most difficult part of this because you had to squeeze the pliers tight enough together while also feeling pain in your hand from using the pliers too often. This was my least favorite project in art class and I would not want to do it again.
