The assignment for this project was to create a stamp using clay. This was used to stamp our artwork as a "signature" design to us. I chose to make two bubbles because it reminds me of the ocean. I don't usually make art with bubbles which is why I chose to make my stamp unique.
To make this project, I used regular clay to create a base for the stamp. I first make it into a ball, then shaped it using my fingers to pinch and shape it to the shape i wanted. After, I made two small balls using clay to make the base for the bubbles. I then used a scratching tool to carve a small part of the bubble to use as the highlights. I repeated this with another ball to make a smaller bubble. To attach the bubble to the stamp, I scratched to top of the stamp base, and the bottom of the bubbles and connected them using slip.
I enjoyed doing this project. I enjoyed it because it was easy to make and I could create whatever I wanted. This assignment was helpful because it was something I could use to make my other art unique and I enjoy making art that can be used on the daily.
