Smooth Paper, Ink, Marker
The main idea that led my artwork was to make a mixed media art piece that resembled abstract. I really wanted to show the use of color and design on this piece to inspire others that abstract can be anything. This was one of my first times making an abstract and personally, I think it turned out to be a success and I am happy with my work.
I used many colors and shapes to make this piece resemble spring or summer. I mainly focused on using regular Blick markers and Do A Dot markers to make the colorful part of this piece. I used to use Do A Dot markers a lot as a child so once I saw that we had these in the classroom, I knew I had to use them. I make dots and smudges with these materials and finished by using ink to make abstract flowers and out-of-the-box shapes to pull together this project.
If I were to do this project again, I would've used more materials and used a wider variety of things around the room to really create a more abstract piece that looked like you couldn't tell what was going on. Overall, I really enjoyed this project and it explored a part of my creative brain that I had not used before.
