Lidded Jars

The assignment for this project was to make two pinch pots that had a lid and were similar to each other to create a vision that they are meant to be together. I started by making this project Mrs. and Mr. Potato Head, but I found it too complicated and ended up making this an easter themed project. I did this by making an egg and a bunny.

I made this project by making four pinch pots. I combined two of them together and used a scratching method to make them stay together. Once I did this, i took one of them and smoothed it out to make the surface smooth. This is when I decided to make it easter themed instead of the Potato Heads. Next, I cut the top of the jar off using an Exacto knife and made the parts using clay, and attached them to the pot. When this was done, I waited for it to be fired and glazed it. To complete it, I added a clear glaze and fired it again.

I enjoyed making this project because I could be creative with it and make what I wanted. If I were to do this project again, I would've planned better ahead of time because I ended up changing my project Idea which was stressful.
