Primary colors

Artist Statement:

I had a similar mentality with the Analogous shot as I did with this one. I knew that I wanted to shoot objects that were the primary colors so I didn't have to artificially make them a different color in photoshop. It was fairly simple to set up the shot I grabbed some yellow graph paper, my red math notebook and a blue case for my kindle and I just arranged them in a manner that I thought made the shot interesting. After that, I put it into photoshop to make a few adjustments.

The first thing that I did in photoshop was to use the burn tool in a rather aggressive manner to darken the background (my desk) in order to make the three primary colors pop more. The next thing that I did was enhance the yellow paper. When I took the photo the yellow was very washed out. So what I did was grab a more vibrant yellow for the color palette tool, then I used the fill tool over the paper with 20% opacity in order to keep the grid on the paper. Overall think that this is a good image because of the brightness of the three primary colors. I also felt like I got a good balance of all three of the colors.
