Artist statement:

When I started to take pictures using detail, I thought that I should just do close up shots of normal sized things because the whole point of details it to make it hard to figure out what the whole subject was. But I soon realized that to was hard to get the camera to focus with the lens that I was using. So I took pictures of large subjects, this way I didn't have to get really close to it and lose focus. This photo is of the circular lights in the new wing of the school that hang from the ceiling. Overall I like the subject but I don't like the scratches on the film that you can see in the center. Also I messed the F stop when taking the photo meaning a had to use a 4 1/2 contrast filter when processing.
