For this photo, I knew that I wanted to use a circuit board. This is because there is so much detail on it that I knew that I could make an abstract photo. After a bit of time, I ended up using the back of the board where a bunch of the etching was clearly visible. I then found this part of the board where the lines from the etching made this rather interesting pattern. Then it was down to finding the right angle for my camera and taking the photo. After I took the photo I uploaded it to photoshop for a few touch-ups.
In photoshop I did a few things. First I used the sharpen tool on the parts that were already in focus just to make them a bit more, well sharper. Then I used the dodge tool. I noticed that the image was a little bit dark. So I used that to lighten the image. At first, I used the brightness slider, but that did not work well so I ended up setting the dodge tool the largest bush size and doing one pass with it. For some reason, this gave the image a better-brightened effect than the tool designed to do that. After that, I was done. Overall I like the image, I think it could be a little more abstract but that might just be because I already know what the full image would look like.
