Minimalism

Artist Statement:

For this photo, I wanted to do something that was black and white. This is because when I think of minimalism I think of those two colors. When I coming up with ideas I first thought that I could do a silhouette of a person behind a large screen. So the screen is white and the silhouette was black. But that did not work out well. So what I ended up doing was taking a picture of the laptop's keyboard with the backlighting on. The backlighting was white and the keycaps were black, so I still had my black and white look. I played around with the angle of my camera until I thought it looked good. Then I put it into photoshop.

In photoshop I did play around with a bunch of different things like contrast and brightness but I did not like how it came out. So I didn't save them and just used the raw image instead. Overall I like this image. I like how the black and white keeps a minimal feel even though a lot is going on with the keycaps.
