I chose this one because I like how the red brick color turned out after editing. I also like ho the lines created by the bricks seem to fade off into the distance.

I chose this one because I like how the darkness of the water contrasts the grayness of the concrete. I also like how the patteren from the bottom of my shoe ends up looking.

I like the shinneyness of this photo. The glare from the light gives it a sort of life of its own. I also like how the reflection has patteren in it.

artist statement

The project assigned to me was to take pictures of things with cool patterns. It was kind of hard for me to find patterns I ended up liking, but when I did find patterns I really liked them. My favorites are the ones of the brick wall. I took the photos with my phone and edited them on my laptop with the photos app. For the photos I took to look cool I had to change the angle I took the photos for constantly. my favorite angle was looking down the brick wall. For this project, I found all the subjects myself which is likely why one of them is my laptop case. Most of the photos I took were random decisions made solely because I thought something looked cool. I mostly made the photo darker by changing the lighting while I was editing. I didn't feel as though the photos required much editing to achieve what I thought they should look like. My favorite image was the photo that looks down the length of the brick wall. I like how the lines inside the bricks get smaller and smaller as you go down the wall. I also like how the redness of the bricks looks with the edits I made. My number one goal at the moment is to find better subjects. I feel as though the things I'm taking pictures of right now aren't good and they aren't fun for me to take. I wanna find better subjects which would in turn make my photos better.
