Scratch Board

In this work you can see the moon in the night sky through the trees. A long time ago humans used to record time by the phases of the moon. The cool shade of white light the moon casts has captivated humans for ages. That's why I chose to draw it. I have seen that same moon almost every night of my life. As has everyone. I don't know about everyone else, but that huge chunk of space rock kind of has a special place in my heart. It's truly the only thing that is always there each night. You can count on it being there. The work was made by making a lot of tight circles on the scratchboard until they made a big circle. The process for creating a piece as complicated as this is very difficult. First I picked up the scratch pencil, then I scraped out the shape of a circle. My project didn't really evolve that much. I started as a circle and ended as such. I think my next step will be making a better moon drawing on paper. Scratchboard was fun tho so I will continue with it.
