Realistic Self Portrait

My artwork shows that even though I may hate realistic drawing, I can still do it. This idea is visually evident in my art because it doesn't look that bad even after me screwing up on it so many times. This project relates to my life mostly because it is me. It shows a realistic expresion that I make. The work was made by using graphite pencils and tortillions to shade in and made the drawing more realistic. I also had to grid the work using rulers. First I gridded a black and white picture of me that I printed out, then I blew the art up onto a bigger piece of paper, lastly I used pencils and tortillions to shade and make the art more realistic. My project evolved from a picture to a grid to a representation of me. It was very had to think about in the beginning but it became very easy towards the end. I will definitely continue to use grids to make my art better in the future.
