I think this drawing really demonstrates my creativeness. I enjoyed the freedom of portraying a plane with butterfly wings in whatever way I wanted to. I tried to make my creation as colorful as I could in order to represent the butterfly in it. The colors helped me convey the mood of this piece, which is light and happy. This drawing expresses both my love for flying as well as my love for nature. I took a lot of time on this piece because it was my first attempt at ninth grade art. I used gel pens because I really liked the way they make the colors pop off the page. I also made sure to draw the piece in pencil first so that I could fix it prior to adding pen if there was a mistake in the art. I also used some highlighters to add a clear, blue tint in the windshield of the plane. For this piece I first thought about what a plane is and what a butterfly is and then combined the two. After that I added the colors to the wings and body of the plane to portray the wild happiness of a butterfly. Eventually, I decided to add wheels to the plane and long stripes and dots on the butterflies wings for added detail. Although I like this piece I believe I could improve the drawing a little more by adding in a background or even re-drawing it. I think I might also be able to turn it into a comic of some kind.
