Pure Contour

Honestly, to me these drawings represent an anxious person. The thick, dark, outer lines of the shoe represent the hard outer shell of someone who isn't very confident. The thinner, inner lines show their inside emotions. It shows their true personality. It kind of compares to me in fifth grade. In fifth grade I was just like that. I wouldn’t do things that would have been fun just because I was too nervous to do it. These pieces of art were made using strictly pencils. First I sketched only the basic shapes of the shoe, then went back over it and darkened the lines that had to be darkened and then solidified the sketch into more solid lines. The first drawing was by far the easiest and took little time to draw. The second and third drawings took longer because I had to find different angles to draw. After some trial and error I decided on the front and back of the shoe because that made the most sense to me. I think this project showed me that If I divide the project into the basic shapes and draw them first the whole thing becomes easier. I think that I will go on and use this technique more because it made the process much easier.
