Candy still Art

My candy still life has the idea that the swedish fish are swimming out of the ripped package and onto the paper. Two of the fish have had their bodies removed because I wanted to make in an attempt to add texture to my art. This project relates to my life in one way and one way only. It reflects my love of swedish fish(the other reason I ate part of the fish). To make this work I took a package of swedish fish, ripped it open, took the fish out, ate the bodies of two, glued them down on paper, then drew it on some art paper. I used a 4h pencil, package of swedish fish, some watercolor paper and a ruler. First, I drew a line on the package to show where the corner was in relation to where the package itself was. Then I drew a rough outline of the package. After this I drew the fish and began to add detail. Once I finished with that I began to experiment with colors. My main idea was to use colored pencils but they didn’t give the red I wanted for the fish. Next I used a tiny bit of oil pastel to make the fishes color stronger. After this I finished coloring the package with colored pencil. The only real thing that evolved during the duration of the project was the usage of coloring materials. Originally I wanted to use colored pencils but I needed a stronger red color. I then used oil pastels to enrich the red of the fish. I think my next steps could be to make an attempt to get better at this type of art because I don’t feel as strong with it yet.
