I chose this image because not only does it look interesting but its a picture of a wreath my mom and I made as a christmas decoration. This represents how I'm thankful for art.

This is an image of a small plush santa ornament hanging on my christmas tree. I chose this image because I like how the lights on the tree make the santa's beard look. This represents how I'm thankful for the holidays.

This is an image of an apple ornament hanging from my christmas tree. I chose this image because its the closest thing I could find to a real apple hanging from a tree. The apple and the tree represent nature. This represents how I'm thankful for Nature.

This is an image of my guitar. I chose to take the image from this angle because I really like how this angle looks. I recently started learning guitar and now that am able to play some easy riffs and chords I have fallen in love with playing music. This image represents how im greatful for music.

This is and image of my cat. I chose this image one, because I am greatful for my cat and two, because I really like how the image looks with her in the corner resting in the chair. This represents how I'm thankful for my cat.

artist statment:

The project assigned to me was to take a series of images of things for which I am grateful. I used my iPhone seven to take the photos and the photos app to make the edits. I chose a variety of subjects, including two Christmas ornaments, my guitar, my cat, and a wreath my mom and I made. I used many different angles and positionings of my subjects during this project; I'm satisfied with how my images ended up looking. I was very selective in the photo I took because I was only taking one and, I wanted it to look as good as possible. I made quite a few edits to all of my images, including darkening them, adding a vignette, and playing with saturation. Picking the right photo was easy because of all the decorations and lights everywhere. They created some cool angles and great lighting. In addition to that, I am aware of what I'm grateful for, so finding those things was easy as well. I liked how the lights and the angles made these photos look; I look forward to incorporating more of these things into my future work. I am interested in continuing to learn photoshop because I feel as though it creates much stronger images than the photos app does.
