Foundations of Art Reflection

I think that my art shows my strength as a learner because before this year, I wasn't very skilled at doing different types of art and I mostly just knew how to draw and paint, but now I know how to do many other things. For example, I know how to make sculptures out of wire and I know how to use scratchboards and how to make linoleum prints. I learned a lot this year about different art styles and techniques and that's why I think that my art shows my strength as a learner. I think that my artworks also show how I've improved. When you start from the top of the page you mostly just see drawings. When you scroll down more, though, you see many other art styles and there are still drawings, but they improve as you go on.

I think that some of the most challenging artworks to create were the realistic self-portrait and the wire sculptures. The reason that the realistic self-portrait was challenging was because it took a long time to make and because it was supposed to be realistic, so it needed a lot of detail. The reason that the wire sculptures were challenging was because it was hard to bend the wire with the pliers and even harder to connect the wires since bending a small amount of wire is pretty hard. They also took a while to make. The artwork that I'm most proud of is probably the assemblage sculpture. It doesn't really look unique or anything, but I think it came out pretty good and I love pandas, so I'm glad I got the idea to make one. It was a little hard to make, but I like it.

My artistic goals for the summer are pretty much just to draw a lot, paint on canvases, and make designs using electronics. But, I also would like to paint some rocks and maybe make mini clay sculptures. And I don't know if this counts as art, but I also like to draw on my driveway with chalk in the summertime. My artistic goals for the future after that are basically the same, except I also want to take another type of art class for school.
