Fall Leaves

Materials used: Graphite drawing pencils, leaves, colored pencils, bullet marker, multi media drawing paper.

To start this negative space leave piece, I first got 3 leaves from outside, dried them off and started recreating them onto my paper with a graphite drawing pencil, next I erased the lines that disconnected the leaves and started going over the remaining lines with a black bullet marker. After I had the leaves on my paper, I started to think of a pattern to use in the background. I thought some rainbow stripes would look cool, so I used colored pencils and made a pattern using red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple colored pencils. Then I was done! I really like how it turned out.

Zentangle Strip

Materials used: Black finepoint gen pen and multi media drawing paper.

For this piece I got my paper and pen and thought of ten designs I could make into a zentangle, once I finished brainstorming I got started. I make a box/strip, then drew lines to make 10 sections. After that I started to make the zentangle. I made the first one the darkest, then went lighter from there. In this zentangle there is different patterns of lines, squiggles, zig-zags, etc! At the end I thought it looked really cool and the last box was my favorite.

Hand Portrait

Materials used: Graphite drawing pencils and multi media drawing paper.

For this negative space hand piece , I grabbed a 2b drawing pencil and posed my hand in an OK sign, then I started drawing, at first I drew my hand regular, but like the negative space leave piece, I erased the lines that made the fingers disconnect and then shaded the non-hand spots.
