Mixed Media

In the first picture, (Mixed Media Value Strip), I used graphite drawing pencils, charcoal, and india ink to make strips going from dark to light. In the second picture () I made this drawing of my cat, Tippy. I chose to draw him because he's my best pet friend! I used a graphite drawing pencil, an eraser, a ruler, a photo of Tippy, and a piece of paper to make this. First, I took a photo of him, then printed it out. Next, I used a ruler and a pencil to make a grid on the photo, and did the same thing to my blank piece of paper. Then I went square by square to recreate the photo as best as I could. I think that if I took it even further I would remove the grid lines and add more shading and highlights.
