Stars & Stripes Design

When making this art piece, my idea behind it was to make it similar to the original US flag. I wanted to use the same color scheme (red, white, blue) but also make it different at the same time. I decided that the stars could be blue instead of white & kept the stripes as red and white. Instead of having the stripes be horizontal, I made them diagonal. Then I put the stars all over instead of in just one corner. For the first draft I just used markers and pencil, but in the final draft I used pencil and watercolor. The paper I used was pastel paper I believe. Overall I like the way it turned out & think the final look is pretty good.
