Whatchamadrawit Drawing

Lunch plunder

12"x9"

Graphite on watercolor

For this drawing I was given the prompt to "draw a groundhog, under a rainbow, eating lunch." So I did just that. I used a sailboat ressemble one i may use during the summertime, and sat him on the bow. In the drawing I imagined his lunch a ham and cheese. The rainbow I used some gradient shading for and added some birds in the back for an added feel of being on the water. While this was a fun project, I'm not sure exactly how it relates to my life. I guess in the most relevant sense I sail, and eat lunch, but that pretty much it.

The materials I used for this project are pretty basic. I used a Ticonderoga HB pencil on watercolor paper. I am not totally sure why I used watercolor but it worked out good for the rainbow so that's good.

The process I used for this project was pretty simple, though, I scrapped a first draft after realizing that I should probably make it bigger. I added to the piece as I went along, for example, the waves and the wake behind the boat I added after the fact. If I was to add to this I would certainly add some color.
