For this piece, I was to design a logo for some aspect of Freeport High School. Whether it be an athletics team, club, or just the school. I decided to make a logo for the school. It is the Freeport 'F' with claws of some kind ripping through it. This project relates to my life because I attend Freeport High School of course, and I've always liked sports and this connects in some way or another to the world of sports and the logos of teams I think. To create this project, I used a simple yet effective combination of graphite p[encils and sharpie. To create this piece, I used a process of adding something on top of what I had already made. I've never really done this before, and it was tough at first to get the perspective and the lines the way I wanted them. But I learned something new, and I am pretty happy with the way it came out. To start this project, I first looked up the freeport logo for a reference. Then, with a ruler and my pencil started to draw it out as closely as I could to the actual thing. When I was done with this, I started to draw out the claws. For this, I used many references. Including the Toronto Raptors, and falcons football logo. This was certainly the hardest part since I obviously wanted to have it look recognizable. When I was done outlining it, I filled it in with sharpie and thickened the lines in the F. And that was basically it. Not too difficult, but it definitely took some new skills that I had to learn. If I was to conbtinue this project, I would definitely make it digital. So fortunately I am. I would also fix it up around the edges and things.
