This piece examines the way in which extreme weather events may affect us as the climate crisis worsens.  In this piece, the man is literally shielded from the worse of the weather by a plant, signifying the way in which humanity's relationship with the natural world is vital. The process of photosynthesis provides oxygen and removes carbon dioxide.  Plants help to remove a small percentage of the carbon emissions humanity produces from the atmosphere.

What this piece shows is how appreciation for nature and respect for the natural world will shield us from the coming storm of the climate crisis.  Provided of course, that we also drastically reduce pollution and harshly regulate top carbon-emitting industries and individual companies.  Then the respect for nature will help us.
