Let Someone Reach Another Summit
Watercolor and Pen on Watercolor Paper
8 X 11
In this piece I was simply trying to create a simple design that could be executed easily that would fulfill the criteria of the assignment to the bare minimum. I was furthered my exploration into watercolor and pen working quickly and trying to detach myself from being scared of taking risks. In this piece, I learned a lot about what works and what doesn't work when it comes to watercolor: sketches are best done on a seperate paper, and then copied onto the page using watercolor, before using pen on top of that to bring out the details. As the viewer can clearly see, I sketched out this piece initially and the result was messy.
I used watercolor, graphite and technical ink pens to create this piece. It was made on watercolor paper.
This piece evolved very little from idea to paper. I did not sketch anything out in my sketchbook beforehand, and simply looked at a few images of mountains. As a result, it is poorly executed and looks bad.
