It's March 24, 1769, Me and my team on a ship in Mexico pacific coast sailing 200 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. It has been more than 2 days and we are running low on supplies. Only 134 miles in, most of the team started to give up. Some being sea sick, scared they might die of starvation, or pirates. The smell of salt water made us thirsty and the smell of dead fish filled our noses with distraught. We were low on hope, but not me. Praying to God made us feel better but not all of us. March 26, 1769, We finally made it to The gulf. We made it to the place where the mission is going to be built. I see about 60-100 Native Americans around the place with buckets and baskets full of building materials. The church near town was willing to let us stay there for a while while the natives built the mission. May 9, 1769, It's been about 2 months since we came here and we just got news that the mission just got finished being built so we are going to go over right now. We just got here and the place is massive, the pillars are about 35 feet long and 3 feet wide. The whole building is 2 acre long and 1 acre wide. The inside was incredible, the floor was made of shiny marble that made you see your reflection and the walls were made of slick wood that was softer than a baby's hand. When we went into the Pulpit the room was filled with at least 200-300 people in chairs waiting patiently for me to speak the truth. About 2 seconds into the room I was overwhelmed with nervousness and I had the biggest butterflies in my stomach I thought I was going to throw up.
When I stood up on the platform the room went dead silent, I felt my stomach fall to the floor. On the stand there was a bible, so I opened the bible and went to the first chapter. I wanted to say the words but I couldn't. There was something in my mouth that wouldn't get out, so I breathed in and breathed out. I said a small prayer that made me feel a little better so I read. In the beginning, God created heaven and the earth. The earth was without form, and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep. The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. God said, Let there be light and there was light.
I read the first 4 chapters of the bible and gave context and what they mean throughout reading. The service lasted 2 hours but it felt like 5. After the service I felt better and had more confidence for the next service, but something was off when I was on the platform. I felt the presence of god right next to me when I was reading the bible during the service. It felt like a breeze of wind on my right shoulder and gave me confidence when reading. I couldn't believe it, I actually met god. He did say anything but his presence made me think he said something, and it got me thinking that, maybe just maybe some people felt touched by my words. It was just a feeling but I believed it and it gave me the idea that I have to make more missions.
