As I stepped out of my car, cameras flashed, the lights quickly blinded me. My bodyguards stood in front of the cameras, escorting me to the doors with my managers at my side. I was now in the airport, having to board a flight. Spain was the destination for my trip, I was on my way to perform a concert there. It had been planned for weeks, but finally today was the day. My nerves were getting the better of me, it would be the first time performing in a whole new country. After my manager checked us in at the ticket counter, we made our way to the security area, where we waited in the terminal to board the plane. As we boarded the plane, my manager found our seats and took my carry ons and placed them in the overhead compartments.
As we landed in Spain, it was already night time when we arrived. My bags had already been taken to the car, so I went straight there. So we departed right away to head to the hotel where I'll be staying for the next two days. We arrived at the hotel after a long drive. Once checked in, the first thing I did was take a nice relaxing shower before going straight to bed. I awoke the next day completely refreshed, as it was the day of the concert. So I was going to rehearse my concert routine with my band and backup singers before the concert. The stage hands were scurrying around and setting up speakers, lighting and sound systems when I arrived. As soon as I walked up to the platform, a staffer handed me a microphone and informed me that my manager wanted to begin in five minutes “thank you I replied”, as I began practicing my vocal exercises before we began. After practice I had some free time so I went to the dressing room to freshen up and change. My manager arrived and told me that the promoter had a famous restaurant with authentic cuisine and beautiful sites to explore. After a nice day out my manager realized it was almost time for the concert and wanted me to receive some rest before the big show. We drove back to the venue and I was escorted to the dressing room to ensure I arrived safely. In the dressing room, I changed into my performance outfit that was given to me, and my make-up artists got to work. While I waited, I continued to practice my vocal exercises as I had done previously. When I spoke with my manager, he told me that there were a lot of people out in front looking excited. I was thrilled to hear the given news, I couldn't wait to perform in front of the people who were promoting me to become a world wide artist.
As I waited to walk on stage, I could hear the crowd shout out my name “ Gloria, Gloria, Gloria” as they waited for the performance to start. The lights blared on me, showing my arrival to the stage. A big grin came over my face as the nerves coursed through my body. Even though I’ve performed many times before, I couldn’t help but to be nervous like it was my first performance in front of thousands of fans. Performing in Spain was quite a big change for me. Being in a whole new and different country was somehow stressful but exciting at the same time.
After I finished my last fan requested song to complete my performance I took a deep breath. I couldn’t believe it, I felt like I had just started to get warmed up even though it was a two hour long show. It was fantastic since I was simply singing and dancing taking requests from fans the entire time. I was so energized from the roar from the crowd but also drained after the event that my voice ached from all the singing. Even though I was exhausted I would drink some honey tea and do it again to please my fans. There aren't enough words to express how ecstatic I felt. However, the people here were quite different from those in the United states. Nevertheless, the energy I received about my music inspired me to want to perform more.
After the very wonderful event I was driven back to the hotel. My belongings had already been packed when I arrived at my hotel room. The reason for this is because I will be traveling back to the United States the next day. I quickly showered and changed before heading to bed to get as much sleep as possible due to the trip. Finally the morning arrived, I was heartbroken since I didn’t want to leave, but I had no choice. When I awoke, I was informed to change and then brought to the car to travel to the airport for my flight. We arrived at the airport swiftly completed our security check to get on the plane. Everything happened so quickly that I felt like I had only just gotten out of the car when really I was already on the plane. When I sat in my seat and glanced out the window realizing how much I was going to miss the beautiful country of Spain. The experience I had in Spain was incredible. The history of this country was so unique and different. It made me want to visit and perform in different countries to share my music.
