SAFETY & VISITOR POLICY INFORMATION
SAFETY UPDATES:
Mass seating for visitors remains the same as last year. We ask that all parents/visitors coming to mass sit in the visitor section (behind our readers) and do not sit with the classes. Parents and visitors shall not pull their students to move and sit away from their homeroom classes for safety reasons.
When picking up students from school, parents/pickups will not be admitted to the school lobby. Once we are notified you have arrived to pick up your students, we will send them out to you at the front of the school building.
If someone besides a parent is picking up your student, unless we are notified in advance, you may be contacted to verify the pickup. This includes emergency pick ups who are listed on your FACTS account who are not frequently utilized as student pickups.
All visitors are required to enter through the front door of the school building. Do not request that students or staff let you in any door but the front school doors. Students will be reminded that they are not to open doors, including for their own family members, as a safety precaution.
NEW VISITOR POLICY:
All visitors to the building will be required to stop by the front office upon arrival. Visitors will be required to sign in, turn in their car keys, and will be given a badge/lanyard. The badges will be marked with a number that corresponds to the slot on which your keys will be placed on a board in the office. You will be escorted to and from your destination in the building. Upon leaving, you will be required to sign out, turn in your badge/lanyard, and will be given your keys back to exit the building. This policy is for all visitors, including but not limited to, cafeteria volunteers, guest readers, room parents, and office volunteers. Refusal to adhere to the policy may result in denial of entrance or affect future visits to the school. The safety of our students and staff are top priorities.
Large scale events, such as Career Day or Field Day, in which volunteers are not in the building but are on campus for long periods of time will be handled as follows: volunteers must sign in and will be given a sticker that must be visible on their clothing for the duration of the event. The sticker will not permit entrance to the building but will signify check in and approval.
Subs will be provided a badge/lanyard to wear during the duration of their sub time in the building.
Tour families will be escorted through the building with a staff member at all times.
As a reminder, all volunteers, chaperones, and subs must have up-to-date Background checks and Safe Environment Training.
