THANK YOU, MR. OPPEL!
We want to give a genuine THANK YOU to Mr. Cody Oppel, who is headed to JCPS starting next week. As you know, Cody was a student at St. Michael, worked in our childcare and after school care, and has been a counselor intern and then full-time counselor here at St. Michael. Over the last several years, Mr. Oppel has been an incredible role model to our students and staff. Today, watching him leave the volleyball court one last time as a staff member was tough!
Cody, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you tremendously for everything you have done here at St. Michael. You're leaving big shoes to fill and we all wish you the best of luck in your new role.
Our annual 8th grade vs. staff volleyball game was today and the staff won...again! Shout out to our awesome 8th graders for putting on a great competition!
Special thanks to Mr. Hoffman for planning this event each year and Mrs. Petkovic for coaching our students! It was a fun time!

Due to the illness days we took, as well as the weather day on Tuesday, 2/11, we will be in session for a 12:45 dismissal on GOOD FRIDAY (4/18) and a full day on EASTER MONDAY (4/21)!

STUDENT UNIFORM POLICY 2024-2025 (updated 12_2024).pdfKentucky law KRS 159.50 defines a truant as any child who has been absent or tardy for more than three days without a valid excuse. All truants shall be reported by the principal to the Director of Pupil Personnel of the appropriate public school district. The principal will notify the Superintendent at the Office of Catholic Schools.
ABSENCE (Archdiocese of Louisville Policy Handbook):
Students may need to be away from school for illnesses or family situations that arise. These are to be documented as absences. A written excuse stating the reason for absence and signed by the parent or guardian shall be required for all absences. All written excuses shall be kept on file for one school year. Parents/guardians will be encouraged to make appointments for private medical or dental services outside of school time. Local school personnel are encouraged to make arrangements with the parents for continued education for students who are absent for an extended period of time.
Parents will be notified if their student is absent three or more times without a valid excuse.

Lunch Prices for 2024-2025 school year
-Chick Fil A meal is $6.50, meal will include sandwich or nuggets, vegetables, fruit, and a drink.
-Little Caesars meal is $6.00, meal will include pizza, vegetables, fruit, and drink.
-Regular school lunch is $5.00, meal will include entree, vegetables, fruit, and a drink.
- Snacks are $1.25 each. (Updated 9/2024)
-Water: large bottle is $0.75 each and a small bottle is $0.50 each
-Per the Archdiocese, students may not bring soft drinks or energy drinks of any kind from home for lunch.
Parents, PLEASE check your students' lunch accounts on FACTS to make sure their accounts are funded.
Mrs. Mendoza is also needing some volunteers for the lunch line! Please reach out to her at mmendoza@stmichaellouisville.org if you would like to volunteer. Reminder: ALL volunteers must have had their Safe Environment Training and a clear background check prior to volunteering at the school.
