Dear Saint Michael School Families,

I am incredibly proud of our students for their focus, perseverance, and hard work as they completed MAP testing this week. I look forward to celebrating their effort and growth. Thank you to our parents for the extra support you provided with student attendance, rest, and healthy breakfasts. It truly makes a difference. Once our staff has had time to review the results, we will share our school successes with families and how these outcomes align with our school improvement plan.

I have an important and encouraging update regarding our campus safety. Over the past year, strengthening the safety of our campus has been a major priority. As I shared with you in the Knights News on September 26, 2025, we welcomed the Kentucky Center for School Safety for a campus visit.  KCSS was highly complimentary of the thoughtful and intentional safety measures already in place. Their feedback confirmed what we strive for every day, that careful planning and ongoing improvements truly make a difference. They also provided valuable guidance and insight into areas where we can refine our current safety practices and implement new layers of protection.

Thanks to the generosity of our school and parish community, we have made significant progress. Through recent fundraising efforts, we were able to raise funds designated for installing safety film on ground-level windows.  All five buildings on campus will receive safety window film and the funding has been secured to complete the installation in three of the buildings so far.  In addition, several private donors have come together to fully fund the long-anticipated school lobby enclosure project, a major enhancement that will improve both visitor screening and daily security. We are very pleased to be moving forward with this project, as well as other safety measures that will be less apparent.

Thank you for your continued partnership, generosity, and trust. I am deeply grateful for our community and for the shared commitment we have to caring for one another in such meaningful ways. Together, we are making our school an even safer place for our children to learn and grow.

As we honor Martin Luther King, Jr., we remember his powerful witness to justice, peace, and love for one another. These values are deeply rooted in our Catholic faith. Dr. King’s commitment to dignity and equality calls us to live out Christ’s command to love our neighbors through our words, actions, and choices. May we continue to guide our students to be people of faith who stand for what is right and work to build a more just and compassionate world.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Very Respectfully,

Mrs. Conliffe
