Military
Military Ownership
There are two types of military registrations, transferable and non-transferable. This is indicated on the registration. Both are
acceptable for issuance of Colorado title, under the following conditions:
Transferable
Registration (does not need to be current)
A Secure and Verifiable ID will be required.
DR 2444 Statement of Fact stating there is no existing title in any state.
Liens indicated must be released or shown on the new title.
DR 2698 Verification of Vehicle Identification Number.
Odometer disclosure must be made on DR 2173 Motor Vehicle Bill of Sale signed by owner to begin odometer tracking.
If the customer indicates there is a stateside title, it must be surrendered. If the customer does not hold the title due to an out of
state lien and the lienholder has filed a lien in that state, then the previous title field will indicate suspense to that state. Example:
SUS CA. Lien info will be indicated on the suspense
record.
Non-Transferable
Registration and certificate of title indicates it is a non-transferable document of a motor vehicle and does not show an expiration date.
A Secure and Verifiable ID will be required.
DR 2444 Statement of Fact stating there is no existing title in any state.
Liens indicated must be released or shown on the new title.
DR 2698 Verification of Vehicle Identification Number.
Odometer disclosure – Odometer disclosure may be made on the DR 2173 Motor Vehicle Bill of Sale. The applicant must sign the Motor Vehicle Bill of Sale.
