“Theo’s Relationship with Corinthians” by Alexandre A.

Theo Lahterman Juncu is a 11 years old student from Stance Dual School. He is a fanatic of the greatest team of the whole world, Corinthians. Theo is the most intelligent person that I have ever met. He is a big person and very funny also.                      

In this Interview we talked about Theo’s future career like what he wants to be in the future, where he wants to study and his food likes. We also talked about his relationship with Corinthians, his favorite football team.                  

      INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHTS

On being a Corinthians supporter 

My whole family supports Corinthians, since I was born I have already watched Corinthians’ games. When I was four I entered the Corinthians’ Initial Club, where we train and one day are able to go to the tryouts. There, they have easier access to the game tickets, so I started to go to the games. Last year, I started to go a lot with my cousins and started paying for the “membership” called Fiel Torcedor, where I have easier access to tickets and discounts. Today, I go to almost every game. This year I went to 6 of the 7 games we had in Neo Quimica Arena. This team is my absolute passion. 

I think the most idolized player in the Corinthians team is our keeper Cássio, for me he really is an idol too, the greatest goalkeeper in Corinthians’ history. But I also have two players that live in my heart, Fagner and Roger Guedes, both have a lot of will and are also good players, I would say just like Corinthians’ spirit. Recently Fagner has messed up, but I still like him very much. Although these are my favorite players, the best one in the cast is Renato Augusto, our playmaker 

The last time I went to Itaquera was March 12th. Well, after that day we were eliminated, and there were not more games to go since what happened. Anyways, in April I will have more opportunities. On the day I turn 12 years old, the first Libertadores game in Neo Quimica Arena happens, so I will celebrate my birthday in the place I love most.

On food likes

Actually I do like it, but it is far from the things I would choose to eat first. When I have other options, I prefer to eat the alternative option. Despite not liking it, I don’t hate it, I can eat it with no problems. There are some foods I do not  eat at all, like rice and beans, okra and some others. I guess beans are my least favorite food.

I can’t explain it really well, I just like it. But, there is this restaurant called Fazenda Churrascada that I love. It is incredible, you may go to their own butcher shop, get whatever piece and type of meat you want and they cook it gorgeously. My favorite order is this amazing Argentine beef cut, called Chorizo, it is an incredible dish.

On what he will do in the future

We never know what life holds for us, but hopefully I will be in The U.S studying a lot, playing a lot of sports, mainly soccer, that is what I like to do. And hopefully be a happy person with all my goals accomplished  and happy with my results. By this time I will be finishing my University, so another thing I wish is to graduate very well, get a great job, a place I really love. And who knows, living with my girlfriend close to university and with success building a life maybe in Manhattan, Ny or Orlando, Florida. Dreaming is not prohibited at all. 

There are various American universities I would love to study. Definitely, my dream is to study in the U.S and be able to build a very nice life and family there. Talking about names, I have already searched and thought about some universities. Within the possibilities, I see University of Florida, UCSD (San Diego’s University) and Duke University in North Carolina in the front, but Harvard would be a dream. 

Whenever I go to the stadium, I can see the love in people's eyes, they put all their heart in that moment, and this passion I see people have and I too, enchants me. The atmosphere in a stadium during a game makes me crazy and it is what I most like to do. It is a moment where I forget everything and just enjoy it.

It was surprising to find out that on his birthday Corinthians will play in Neo Quimica arena and he will celebrate his birthday there. I hope they win it. I also like barbecue very much and for me it’s the best food in the whole world.

Cassio is the most complete goalkeeper in Brazil and maybe in football history. The most interesting answer was choosing the university he will go to, because for a kid to choose a university it’s not easy and choosing where to live like Manhattan or Orlando.
