Dear Year 7 Student,

I’m a student in Year 9, and I am struggling with a problem of mine, which I wish you could help me with. My problem is I support Vasco. 

If you watch football, or soccer if you wish, you probably already know that Vasco’s team is terrible. Vasco is currently placed at 18th in the Brasileirão, out of 20 teams, meaning that they are in the relegation zone and if they do not manage to win some games they’ll end up playing in the second division next year.

You might think it’s not much of a deal, but it really is for me. I’m a diehard supporter of Vasco and their performance this season is driving me crazy. I really can’t stand watching this team’s games, but I can’t keep myself from watching them either. I was hoping you could find a way to solve my problem.

And I ought to tell you, cheering for another team isn’t a possibility, nor is stopping to like football.

Nowadays football is an unrealistic world like a utopia. There are many reasons to support whatever team you want. This sport has been part of our lives for decades, surprising us with beautiful goals or terrible actions between soccer players and football teams. I understand your unhappiness , by supporting a terrible team in many points of view, furthermore losing a lot of games and drawing with unknown teams and having a bad reputation, turning their supporters into crazy people or depressed people. I saw a lot of people having really bad problems with Vasco. If I were you, I would focus on other things. In a few weeks, you wouldn't have problems with Vasco and its terrible actions.  It is very difficult to believe that it is possible for a football team to cause many problems during people's personal life, evenmore, this is impossible for many individuals, to have the consequences that are caused because of a football team that is not having a good season.   I understand that it is difficult to be happy by supporting a terrible team and watching some silly actions between the soccer players, especially the goalkeeper. If Vasco players continue playing like 4 year olds, they will lose almost all their matches. If we observe some statistics and results of the last seasons we can probably analyse that this team is in a bad period, losing a lot of games and being eliminated by unknown teams, and turning their supporters into crazy people like clowns by playing with ‘division d’ teams and losing it. If Vasco invests their money in something helpful they probably could change their situation. Many supporters as you can't resist the changes that are happening to this soccer team. It is impossible to imagine that at least one day they will not be demoted to the “division b”, most people always think that Vasco will have a recovery. For many technical problems, a lot of people have feelings of anger and unhappiness, these are some consequences that are presented in the world today. In my opinion, the way of interpretation by seeing a football team it's very important. You can  analyse this situation in many different aspects, being a meme or not, the most important thing is your opinion about the team. You could support Vasco but at the same time judge it. If you maintain our point of view this could affect your way of interpretation, losing hope and happiness about that topic.If you change your way of thinking, Vasco is not going to be more of a problem to you in the future.

If the Vasco football team does not cooperate, they will be demoted in the Division ‘B’. Nowadays Vasco is one of the most terrible teams in Brazil because a long time ago they had tactical problems, political instability and financial crisis. If all of this internal conflicts between soccer players, the coaches and even the presidents didn't affect this team, on another occasion it would not be the same as we know today.If Vasco is able to pay the debt, in the future they could invest in awesome players. According to Globo, Vasco has a debt of R$ 592,6 millions by many bad hires that cost millions of reais to the football club but if we compare the debt to 2022 their almost played half a billion. This could symbolize a lot for you, if the president manages to recover the money to buy the debt. I do not know if they are going to buy or sell their soccer players for the absolutely correct point of view that they have enough money. One of the most important achievements that human evolution did during the past years was the creation of sports. One of the most common entertainments human beings have nowadays is football but our lives don't revolve  around this. If you can't resist this football team, there are a lot of methods by forgetting the existence of something. If you remember what irritates you, you could remember the subject in detail and then rewrite and answer the following questions. “What happened? Who was involved? Where and when did it happen? What else was going on at the moment? How did you feel? One day this topic will be forgotten”. If you forget about Vasco,  this soccer team would not be a problem for you.

If one day you are tired of watching Vasco, you could change teams.Or you could change the way you see things. If you start looking at Vasco with a positive eye in the future it could benefit you. If this advice didn't convince you, I think that you should spend your holiday on a summer camp to improve your knowledge and to have the opportunity of visiting a foreign country or etc. I really hope it works and that it was useful (from your point of view).I wish you the best and to feel better about this topic.
