Dear Year 7 Student,
I’m a year 9 student and I am facing some difficulties this year. Unfortunately, many problems have appeared along this year in relation to organization, activities, homework assignments, exams and my daily practice after school.
This year has been very difficult to go through. I am trying my best to make sure I have time to do homework even though I have swimming practice from 4 to 7 every day. I am getting really tired after my practice and not having any energy or motivation to study or to complete my homework assignments. Time is really getting tight for me and I have no idea how to solve this problem. After asking my dad, he answered: “If you want to continue swimming, you must organize your responsibilities”. I totally agree with him but it is really hard for me.
To be honest, my grades are really good this year, but the problem is having motivation every day to do my homework and study. Even though I am tired, I try my best to complete all the assignments given by the teachers.
I would accept any advice,
Anonymous
Dear Y9 student,
I have read your letter and analysed your time and motivation problem. I can understand what you are going through and that your time table might be a problem. You could have an organisation coach or a therapist but you should mostly free up time in your table, doing this might work.
Your problem may be caused by swimming since you have it every day after school. If you have it every day, you will get busy. If you don't study, you don't pass. I understood your problem as an organisation problem like it is something that you need to think more about. If swimming is a problem you should take a break. If I were you I would have swim practice on weekends. Plus having no motivation may lead to failure.
If you are getting too tired you could try dropping out of Dual Day to study or rest or go to a school that's half period. If that's not up to you then swim and sleep on weekends
If you are not organised, you are a mess. One of your problems is organisation. Something I can relate to and something your father says, and your agenda is one of them and this may end in bad results. If you don't have time, you will be late. You could do organisation activities they really help to see if you miss and activity you could always get therapy or an organisation coach it aims for high things and it works well.
This advice really works since I've gone through the same things including swimming. So you could try the coach if it doesn't work you could always drop out of something. In my experience it works really well.I really hope it works out for you. I hope that you can work your agenda out.
Sincerely,
