Dear Year 7 Student,
I am in Year 9, and I feel that I’m more tired than I used to be in the past years. I am dedicated at school, my grades are fine, but I’m feeling very tired and lazy to do chores, practice my hobbies and my social battery is considerably low.
My biggest problem is that I can’t properly balance my school life with my outside life. I focus a lot to get good grades and pass all my classes with excellent grades, but I feel that this year I'm more tired and I haven’t enjoyed my hobbies, even though I really want to. Plus, my posture has worsened significantly, besides not delivering a few pieces of homework in time, and I don’t feel proud of this.
Hope you can help me with advice to balance my school life, as well as improving my posture and tiredness.
Thanks,
Year 9 Student
Dear Y9 student,
Recently you’ve been confused and tired, to the point where you have no choice but to keep on thinking about what you should do in order to account for this. This accounts for problems not only social but also emotional but don’t worry, as I can help you.
Lately you’ve been tired, with a sensation of being stuck in your place unable to move or express what you’re feeling. This is called Mental Exhaustion. According to HealthLine.com. If you start feeling mentally tired as if things stop correlating with your world, you have Mental Exhaustion. It’s usually a good idea to think about your life. Turns out, realising you are tired means it’s a bigger problem than you think, and the best way to fix it is by taking a break. Subsequently, Mental Exhaustion gets quite serious and can be the root for loads of problems such as anxiety, loneliness, and even develop symptoms of depression. Turns out, If you took a break, you’d be much better. But what about your social life?
It can be extremely difficult to balance school life with social life. You've been struggling socially and overall putting in too much work into your grades and academic performance which can severely dampen your mood and get you stressed out. But there’s no need to worry as it can surely be made better.
I really think you should try to balance both factors into equilibrium. As taught by mhanational.org It can be self-harming to take loads on your shoulders so prioritise what’s important and what you need to improve. Because of this, Make sure you take in the important stuff first and then the more superficial.
You also haven`t been able to enjoy your hobbies. According to Tinybuddha.com you can have days off where you’d be all day just on your hobbies, not having to do any strenuous work and taking your time to its fullest. Giving yourself a break doesn't mean you`re wasting time or being lazy. Instead you are working on your mental health and making sure you are the one okay. If you give yourself some time, things will get better. If not having any time for hobbies is a problem, you should be acting towards it in the simplest way possible. And that is by taking a break
The mental exhaustion and lack of will you’re experiencing is something to take note of. These problems can often lead to life lasting issues such as anxiety and depression. Considering my advice doesn't work, I highly recommend you speak to a specialised therapist as they can discover what you're going through more thoroughly. If for a series of reasons my advice doesn’t work you can try to talk to someone you trust about how you’re feeling and seek for the picture others make of you. In other words, have someone by your side whilst you get safely out of this situation. I sincerely hope this works and wish you the best of luck as not everyone can face what you’re going through and you deserve the best!
Sincerely,
