Dear Year 7 students,
I am a Year 9 student and I am very glad that you are offering your time to help me. I feel like since the classes started again, my attention spent has been worse, it is getting hard to study for the tests and to do my homework. Every time there is something that distracts me, it can be an outside noise, my phone or I just stop paying attention to what I need to do.
This situation makes me procrastinate and, in the end, I feel very bad for not being able to finish what I need to do. Hopefully you may help me with my situation and give some advice.
Thank you for helping,
Year 9 student
Dear Y9 student,
It is completely normal to be going through this. It is very common for most people on Earth to have distractions that impact your studying process. Your problem is that every time there is something that distracts you, you just stop paying attention to what you need to do. If you do what I will say, you will solve all your problems.
One of the main reasons that you said that were distracting you, was the fact that there is a lot of outside noise. This is really something that impacts a lot in your studying process. If you use headphones when permitted, it helps you a lot. Also take breaks from the noise and relax. According to wikihow.com, using headphones is one of the best ways of ignoring the background noises. And if it is not permitted, try to take the play time and go to a silent room and relax.
Another thing that you said that distracts you, is the fact that you can’t stop looking at your phone. It is actually very normal to people of our generation to use our cell phones all the time. How about you turn off as many notifications as possible, or why don’t you try to take distracting apps off your home screen. Because notifications are probably one of the main reasons you take your phone out of your bag. And if after you see an interesting app, you will start viewing it. If you followed my advice, you would probably solve your problems.
In summary,to lead with outside noise, It is usually a good idea to use headphones when permitted or take breaks from the noise. And to deal with your phone, turn off notifications or take distracting apps off your home screen. If you can’t solve it, try to get help with your parents or friends. And if nothing deals with it, try to have professional advice.
Sincerely,
