Remember the game, “Pokémon Go” which took the world by storm. Notice how adults and kids — meandering around town these days, eyes glued to their phones? Noticed how easily kids get distracted by smartphones and tablets? Imagine what if we can leverage Augmented Reality for the good?
We all know that we remember better what we see instead of what we listen or read. Augmented Reality provides a 3-Dimensional view which allow our pupils to deepen their understanding. We can’t stop kids from using AR but we can make sure they are doing more good it.

Phoebe Wong Hui Min is a Primary School Teacher. She completed her Master’s degree in Education with Nanyang Technological University (NIE). Phoebe spent 10 years in service and is currently teaching in Yio Chu Kang Primary School. She believes that ICT provides more options for educators and although technology will never ever replace great teachers, technology in the hands of great teachers will be transformational. Thus while the classroom may not require technology geeks who can teach, Phoebe aspires to be a teaching geek who can harness technology.
