Fostering Critical Thinking through ICT-mediated Instruction

Presentation Level: Transform Learning

Presentation Strands: Flipped learning with the digital suite

The central aim of education in Singapore is to develop critical thinkers. Teaching the discipline of analysis and seeing connections between concepts or ideas is paramount to develop students, who not only can think clearly or rationally but also independently. Through ICT-mediated instruction in Sports & Wellness (S&W), students develop the mental skills in sports performance and accurate decision-making in games. An array of tools, applications and learning devices enables teachers to reach out to Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic (VAK) learners to get them thinking perceptively. This session demonstrates how various online platforms can be harnessed to challenge students to think critically and insightfully.
