The Swimming Gala was held at Victoria Park Swimming Pool on 22nd September. Thanks to the immense efforts of the swimmers, three records were broken that day. Kwong Jacob Yat Nam (3B) broke the A Grade 200m Individual Medley record, while Law Lok Hei (4E) broke both the B Grade 50m Freestyle record and the B Grade 100m Freestyle record. Kwong and Law eventually became the individual champions of their respective grades, whereas Chan Nok (1A) is the individual champion of C grade.
In terms of the inter-house awards, Oak House was awarded the Cheering Championship and Pine House won the C Grade Inter House Championship. The biggest winner this year was, undoubtedly, Rosewood. Not only did they clinch both the A and B Grade Inter House Championships, they also came first overall, taking home the Overall Inter House Championship. Scope sincerely congratulates the winning houses and swimmers for their remarkable achievements.
In other news, the heats for the Division 1 Inter-school Swimming Competition are slated for 28th October, with the finals commencing a week later, on 3rd November. We hope that with countless hours of training under their belt, our swimming team will continue to shine in this high profile event – reaching the top of the leaderboard.
